One person died and several others were injured when were involved in a motor accident involving motorcycles registration number UFG 914U and reg number UFW 340C both Bajaj boxers and red.
The deceased is Nsekuye Erisa aged 28 years a UPDF personnel attached to Katakwi army barracks, resident of Murindi village, Muhindura parish Kanaba sub-county Kisoro district, who was riding motorcycle reg number UFW 340C Bajaj boxer and the second rider was Urban a resident of Busozi village, Gisorora parish in Nyakabande sub-county Kisoro district.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson, Elly Mate, on Sunday 6th August 2023 at around 05:50 PM, motorcycle reg number UFW 340C being ridden by the deceased was from Kisoro side heading to Kabale side with two passengers including the wife to the deceased and their child.
On reaching Kibande village Muhindura parish Kanaba sub county along Kisoro Kabale road met motorcycle reg number UFG914U being ridden by Urban a boda boda rider in Nyakabande which was from Kabale side heading to Kisoro allegedly riding recklessly that left his lane in a corner and collided head-on.
Both riders and passengers got injuries and we were rushed to Mutolere Hospital where the UPDF officer was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police were notified, and the scene was visited by Asp Kushaba Micheal DTO Kisoro and team, victims were taken to Mutolere Hospital, and the body of the deceased was taken back home by relatives but advised not to burry before a postmortem is carried out.
All the motorcycles are currently parked at CPS Kisoro pending IOV inspection.
According to the primary report, the accident was caused by reckless riding on the side of Motorcycle reg number UFG 914U who had left his lane.
