Parents and teachers of Kasheshe Primary School in Buyanja Sub-county, Rukungiri District have been urged to strengthen their collaboration to improve learning outcomes.

The call was made by Mr. Deus Mugarura, popularly known as “Money Matters,” while officiating as guest of honor at the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) best performers’ awarding ceremony held at Kasheshe Catholic Church.

Deus emphasized that both parents and teachers play distinct but complementary roles in creating a conducive learning environment. He noted that strong cooperation between the two is vital for a child’s academic success, emotional well-being, and overall development.

He commended the school administration for its commitment to improving learners’ performance and applauded parents who actively support the school and fulfill their responsibilities.

Deus also praised the initiative of rewarding top-performing pupils with items such as mattresses, books, and mathematical sets, saying such incentives encourage learners to work harder.

The school headteacher, Mr. Twebaze Rwamburara Darius, said recognizing best performers has become part of the school’s culture as a way of motivating pupils to achieve better results.

He revealed that the school’s academic performance has steadily improved over the past two years, with a target of ensuring all candidates pass in first grade. He stressed that this goal can only be achieved through strong partnership between parents and teachers.

Darius added that collaboration helps create a supportive environment that enhances learners’ growth and academic performance.

He further emphasized the need for parents to cooperate with the school, meet all requirements, and actively demand academic excellence from their children.

The headteacher also expressed gratitude to the Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, for offering full bursaries up to university level to two of the school’s top performers in the 2025 PLE. The beneficiaries are currently studying at Immaculate Annex School in Rukungiri.

Some parents who received awards on behalf of their children, including Mr. Fudel Kyogabirwe, Mr. Edson Mugabe, and Madam Miria Ankunda, expressed appreciation for the school’s efforts in improving academic performance.

They commended the teaching staff for their dedication and praised Headteacher Darius Twebaze for revitalizing the school’s academic standards. The parents pledged continued support to further improve results.

They also expressed gratitude for the rewards given to pupils, including mattresses, books, and mathematical sets, and thanked the Bishop for supporting learners through bursaries.
