Rev. Fr. Conrad Atuhiire, the parish priest of Nyakibale Parish in Kabale Diocese, has urged students to embrace discipline and remain focused on their studies to achieve great success.

He made these remarks on Monday during a Mass held to bless the new students of Mary Seat of Wisdom Nyakibale, a school located in Rukungiri Municipality, which officially opened on February 10, 2025.

Fr. Conrad emphasized that discipline, respect, and determination should be the foundation of the students’ lives if they are to succeed in their education. He also encouraged them to strictly adhere to school regulations, noting that success does not come easily, as some learners may assume.

He further advised students to love their school, take care of its property, respect their teachers, and seek guidance from them to achieve their goals while remaining God-fearing.

Fr. Conrad commended the Nyakibale Parish Council for initiating the school, which he described as a valuable effort to nurture and empower the girl child for a better future.

Sr. Sabina Tumusiime, the head teacher of Immaculate Heart Girls Nyakibale, who attended the event, acknowledged that the idea for the school was developed by the parish council and the former head teacher of Immaculate Heart Girls, Sister Gladys Kachope. She explained that the initiative was aimed at expanding opportunities for girls who might not have secured admission to Immaculate Heart Girls due to limited space.

She expressed gratitude to the parents for entrusting the school with their children, assuring them that the institution is fully prepared to provide quality education.

She also encouraged students to embrace their school, promote its reputation, and take pride in being part of it. She reminded them that achieving the school’s motto, “Reach the Heights,” is only possible through hard work, love for God, and dedication to their studies.

Sister Niwarinpa Gertrude, the head teacher of Mary Seat of Wisdom, expressed her joy at the successful opening of the school. She described the inaugural students as pioneers who are making history by setting a foundation for future generations.

She appreciated the staff of Immaculate Heart Girls for their support and reiterated that the school was established as a result of the Nyakibale Parish Council’s vision and the efforts of former Immaculate Heart Girls head teacher, Sister Gladys Kachope.

Sister Gertrude described the school’s beginning as promising and prayed for God’s blessings to guide her in managing the institution effectively so that the students can receive the best education possible.
