Rev. Canon Mugisha Nathan Kirebete, the Bishop’s Commissary of North Kigezi Diocese, has urged Christians to exemplify virtuous behavior in society, emphasizing the importance of hard work, godliness, understanding, patience, and self-control. He highlighted the Christian duty to support church development by sharing their resources.

During his sermon at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda Parish in Nyabitete Archdeaconry, Canon Kirebete condemned behaviors such as alcoholism, adultery, hypocrisy, rumor-mongering, and idolatry, which lead believers away from God’s love. He also encouraged married couples to love each other and instill good morals in their children, fostering responsibility in future church members. Additionally, he urged children to respect and love their parents to promote family harmony.

Canon Kirebete commended Buhandagazi Christians for their dedication during the Christmas season, which enabled the timely completion of diocesan quarters.

Rev. Sison Gumisiriza, the parish priest of Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda Parish, announced the completion of the diocesan quarter for 2025, expressing gratitude for the congregation’s cooperation and hard work. He outlined achievements such as church renovations and the construction of additional buildings at the church’s primary school. Rev. Gumisiriza also revealed plans to honor senior Christians above 70 years on Sunday, January 26, 2025, acknowledging their contributions since the church’s establishment in 1922. He praised the North Kigezi Diocese for its spiritual revival, noting the introduction of daily evening services from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM, which have strengthened the congregation’s relationship with God.
