Elias Niwagaba, the outgoing lay leader of Kinyansano Cathedral, North Kigezi Diocese, urged Christians to serve God faithfully and regularly for the gift of life, during his farewell service and sermon this Sunday afternoon at Kinyansano Cathedral. After two years of service, Elias has been transferred to Rwerere Church of Uganda Parish.

In his farewell message, Elias called on Christians to abandon the worship of small gods and seek forgiveness from one another. He emphasized the importance of avoiding jealousy and envy and instead focusing on doing what pleases God, which he said brings lasting success and happiness.

Elias further encouraged Christians to love one another and build meaningful relationships that can propel them toward career success and achieving life’s dreams. He strongly advised against turning to witchcraft to solve challenges, urging Christians to rely on God for guidance and solutions. He also called on married couples to work together, reconcile, and embrace Christ in their lives to eliminate family conflicts and domestic violence.

In his words, Elias appealed to the youth to embrace reconciliation and repentance, urging them to take Christ as their personal Savior, describing it as the most powerful and valuable “degree” in life.

Meanwhile, Amatsiko Niwegariho, the Dean of Kinyansano Cathedral, encouraged Christians to fight against the “devil’s ignorance” in their families and create room for Christ. He reminded them that being alive is a sign of God’s mercy and will, as He knew them even before they were born. Amatsiko also urged parents to raise their children in Christ and avoid the worship of small gods, highlighting that obedience and loyalty to God can lead to achieving all life’s goals.
