Ms. Joanitah Nankunda, General Manager of Kitagata Financial Services, has called on parents to focus on equipping their children with homestead income-generating activities during the holiday season to prepare them for future alternative livelihoods.
Ms. Nankunda delivered this message on Saturday, 30th November 2024, while officiating the Top Class graduation ceremony at Better Home Academy in Kitagata Town Council, Sheema District. The event was presided over by Rev. Erikana Turyagumanawe, the Chaplain of Bweranyangi Girls’ High School.
She condemned extravagance during the Christmas festivities, urging parents to save for the next school term. She also emphasized the importance of acknowledging and prioritizing side incomes to strengthen family financial stability while teaching children skills for their future well-being.
David Atwine, the Mayor of Kitagata Town Council, commended Better Home Academy for its holistic education approach, which integrates academic excellence with skills development. He also urged parents to remain vigilant during the holiday season to ensure their children’s safety.
Alex Nashaba, one of the school directors, expressed gratitude to parents for their unwavering support of the institution. He reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing quality education, emphasizing that Better Home Academy is a non-profit institution initiated by professional teachers to promote education, solidarity among teachers, and uphold their reputation.
Kigenyi Karimu, the head teacher, praised the strong cooperation between the school and parents, assuring them of the academy’s continued prioritization of quality education for their children.
