RUKUNGIRI- Rutooma Catholic Parish in Buhunga sub-county Rukungiri district has commenced preparations to host the Bishop Kabale Diocese the Rt Rev Calist Rubaramira on 15th June 2023.
This was revealed on Sunday by the Rutooma Catholic Parish Priest Father Byomuhangi Fisher who led the thanksgiving mass assisted by Father Aloysius Banyenzaki who applauded the overwhelming support exhibited by the Christians that enabled the church to start hosting more than one church services.
He challenged believers to believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ to have everlasting life and enter the kingdom of heaven.
The thanksgiving was organized by the Buhunga LC3 Chairperson Benon Mugisha and was held along with the opening of their new church still under construction as well as a holly mass of remembering the day Jesus Christ ascended to heaven.
Mugisha Benon noted that he organized the thanksgiving to fulfill his pledge after winning the 2021 election as the sub-county boss.
He cautioned people to stop mixing politics with religion and avoid empty promises that spoil their reputations.
A total of over 4.5 million shillings was raised during the thanksgiving mass.
