During the 9th South Ankole Diocese Youth Convention at Kyamate Secondary School, international evangelist Rev. Jasper Mpirirwe Tumuhimbise urged young people to shift their focus away from popular culture and instead embrace humility, identifying themselves with God for transformation to conquer the challenges ahead.
Rev. Tumuhimbise expressed concern about the tendency of many youths to blindly follow popular culture trends, including smartphones, fashion, technology, celebratory events, clubbing, and secular music. He emphasized that such conformity, driven by peer pressure, often leads them into sinful behavior.
Mama Lillian Ahimbisibwe, the wife of Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe, highlighted the importance of monitoring mental health among the youth. She urged them to avoid excesses that could potentially lead to mental health challenges, emphasizing that the responsibility to address these issues lies with the youth themselves.
Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe called on the youth to embrace Jesus as their savior, emphasizing the importance of engaging with proper gospel teachings, reading the Bible independently, and seeking guidance from reliable religious mentors. He warned against falling prey to false prophets who offer false hope without preaching salvation, stressing the need for a strong spiritual foundation.
