The Security Minister who doubles as the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Hon Retired Major General Jim Muhwezi Katugugu is expected to be the guest of honour at the 25th Anniversary of Rev Father Dr Julius Turyatoranwa.
Rev Father Julius Turyatoranwa was ordained on 26th July 1998 and posted at Soko parish in Kisoro District where he served up to 2000.
In 2001- 2002, he went for further studies and enrolled in Makerere University for a post-graduate diploma in education, and upon completion, he was posted to Butogota Parish in Kanungu District where he served for one and a half years.
In 2004, he became the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese up to 2007 when he back for studies where he enrolled with one of the universities in the Peoria States of America where he taught master’s, Doctorate, and Ph.D. until 2017.
On 23rd January 2018, Rev Father Dr Julius Turyatoranwa became the Parish Priest Christ the King Parish Rukungiri Municipality and recently was named Dean of Nyakibale Deanry leading 6 six parishes of Nyakibale, Christ the King, Ndama, Rwamagaya, Rwengiri and Rutooma.
According to Rev. Fr. Julius, he organized a thanksgiving to commemorate his 25th anniversary of priesthood and thank God who enabled him to lead Christians to complete the Church building which he found at ring beam and now remains with installing seats.
According to Rev. Father Dr. Julius, the Thanksgiving mass will be held on Saturday at Rukungiri main stadium and will be led by the Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev Callist Rubaramira starts at 9:30 am in the main stadium and is expected to be graced by Ministers and legislators among others.
He dedicated his Thanksgiving collections to building a priest’s house estimated to cost over 500 million and so far over 100 million has been raised in cash and pledges.
Rev Father Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa expresses heartfelt appreciation towards the corporation exhibited by fellow clergy and Christians at Christ the King Parish which has enabled development.
The Christ of King Parish head of the laity Zepha Karyeija revealed that Christians are eagerly waiting to celebrate his Anniversary paying him back for his developmental effort towards the church.
