Hundreds of Christians on Sunday gathered at St Andrew’s Church of Uganda Kifunjo, Eastern Ward, Kanungu Town Council, to witness the installation of Rev Allan Ampumuza as the new parish priest.
The function was presided over by the Archdeacon of All Saints Church Kanungu, Venerable Rev Peter Bagira. In his sermon, Rev Peter condemned the habit of disrespecting religious leaders by many Christians, noting that these leaders are chosen by God and therefore should be respected. He called upon Christians to obey priests and other religious leaders regardless of their age and financial power.
Additionally, Rev Peter urged the new parish priest to live an exemplary and prayerful life. Moreover, he acknowledged that the church is full of people with different characters, challenging Rev Allan to put God at the center of everything.
Meanwhile, speaking shortly after the installation, Rev Allan extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Bishop of Kinkiizi Diocese, Rt Rev Dan Zoreka, for entrusting him with the position. Moreover, he applauded the Christians of Kifunjo for the warm welcome, reaffirming his commitment and determination to spread the word of God and promote development across the parish.
