Rev. Dr. Martin Weymont, an evangelist from England, urged Christians to distance themselves from sin in order to be true followers of Christ and strengthen their relationship with Him. He made this call during a thanksgiving service held for Mrs. Penina Muramuzi, the lay reader of Yakobo Orikweera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda Parish, Nyabitete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.
Rev. Weymont emphasized the importance of walking in the footsteps of Christ, stating that doing so paves the way to entering the Kingdom of God. He expressed concern over certain Christians trapped in behaviors such as alcoholism, adultery, and witchcraft, warning that these sins create a divide between believers and God’s mercy.
He also encouraged Christians to regularly give part of their resources back to God to support the church and further the spread of the gospel.
Mrs. Penina Muramuzi, the lay reader of Yakobo Orikweera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda, expressed her gratitude to God for the gift of life, her children, and the opportunity to serve in the church during the thanksgiving service.
Rev. Sison Gumisiriza, the parish priest of Yakobo Orikweera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda, praised Mrs. Penina for her tireless efforts in spreading the gospel and supporting the development of the church.
