Police in Kabale are currently investigating a disturbing incident that occurred on Sunday morning, in Rwabaremera village, Maziba sub-county. The incident involves the untimely demise of Wapida Willy, a 38-year-old casual laborer residing in the area.
According to reports from Omamukiror Samuel, a police officer attached to Maziba Police Station, Willy was discovered dead near the residence of Kabwojo, a resident from the same area. Investigations indicate that Willy, who worked as a gardener and carpenter for Professor Tweheyo Minason, was last seen alive on Saturday night at Kiconco Pamera’s tea restaurant in the company of four suspects.
The suspects, identified as Akamanya Onesmus, Arinaitwe Godwin, Nsimire Mercy, and Kiconco Pamera, were reportedly seen with the deceased at the restaurant around 10:00 PM. Additionally, it is alleged that Willy had been expressing romantic interest in Nsimire Mercy, further complicating the circumstances surrounding his demise.
Upon the discovery of Willy’s body, police were alerted, leading to the involvement of Maziba police, the District Police Commander (DPC) of Kabale, and the district CID officer.
A case file has been opened, and the scene of the crime was thoroughly examined and documented.
Furthermore, statements were gathered from relevant parties, and Willy’s body has been transferred to the Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
All four suspects have been apprehended to aid in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
The motive behind Willy’s death remains unclear, and authorities are diligently working to uncover the truth surrounding this unfortunate event in Rwabaremera village.
