Nyaburondo Upper Nursery and Primary School was filled with happiness and joy today as the District Inspector of Schools awarded the institution its pre-primary licence. This coincided with the school’s second nursery section graduation, where 30 Top Class pupils successfully completed their nursery education and are set to join Primary One next year. The school was founded in 2024.

While preaching during the graduation ceremony at St. James Nyaburondo Church of Uganda, Ven. Arch. Ronald Natuhweera, the Kasooraza Parish Archdeacon under the Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry in the North Kigezi Diocese, congratulated and honoured the graduates. He also applauded the parents—especially the fathers—who attended the ceremony, noting that their presence is a blessing and a source of confidence for their children.

Ven. Natuhweera urged parents to dedicate their children to Christ for lifelong protection, faith, joy, discipline, and a victorious, brighter future. He encouraged both children and parents to have hope, reminding them that even Jesus Christ was once a little child, yet grew to be the King of heaven and earth. He assured them that since children are dearly loved by Jesus, He will guide them until they grow into great and important individuals in the future.

The PTA Chairperson, Mr. Patrick, welcomed and congratulated the nursery graduates with honour. He also thanked parents for trusting him with the mandate to lead the school’s management and for choosing to bring their children to Nyaburondo Upper Nursery and Primary School, as well as for their continued support. He appreciated the staff, leadership, and management committee and highlighted the school’s achievements, including the construction of new classroom blocks.

With the school now having a total enrolment of 186 pupils, he announced that the school will extend upper classes next year from P.4 to P.5.

The Nyakagyeme Sub-county Inspector of Schools, Mrs. Aidah Begumisa, commended the teachers, school management, and parents for their cooperation and support—not only in bringing their children to the school but also in funding infrastructure and being good ambassadors of the institution. She encouraged them to maintain this momentum, assuring them of continued school progress.

Similarly, Mr. Antony Ampiire, the Rukungiri District Inspector of Schools, thanked the school for establishing essential administrative organs to properly govern the institution in partnership with parents and the surrounding community. He encouraged healthy academic competition with neighbouring schools and granted permission for the extension to P.5 as planned.

He cautioned school administrators to recruit well-trained, certified teachers and to continue improving staff welfare and infrastructure for better academic performance. Since the school is newly established, he appreciated the management for keeping the authorities informed, which he said is legally required. He officially announced the awarding of the nursery licence but advised the school to also begin the process of acquiring a licence for the primary section.

As guest of honour, the Nyakagyeme Inspector of Schools, Mrs. Mary Begumisa, praised teachers for their dedication to teaching and parents for supporting their children’s education, noting that she has observed clear signs of a brighter academic future. She called for strong cooperation between teachers and parents to ensure continued school progress and urged parents to guide their children during the holidays to prevent academic and disciplinary setbacks.

She thanked the school for securing its nursery licence and encouraged the management to employ well-trained, qualified teachers to improve the quality of education, as well as to embrace government interest that could eventually support and take over the school.
