Mitooma District Chairperson Benon Karyeija has called on students and science teachers to embrace innovation as a means to advance the country’s technological development.

He made this appeal during the official launch of the Science on Stage program, aimed at enhancing practical science education among teachers and students. The event took place today at the district headquarters, with support from the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Karyeija emphasized that science has been fundamental since the creation of the universe, but it is the innovations and new ideas that truly make a difference. He urged all participants in science to be more innovative to drive technological improvements.

Mitooma District RDC Francis Kibuka Amooti also spoke at the meeting, highlighting that programs like Science on Stage support the government’s efforts to promote science education. He stressed the importance of such initiatives in advancing science learning.

Representing the District Education Officer, Angella Atwine, the Mitooma District Inspector of Schools, announced a partnership with the Ministry of Education to ensure the success of the Science on Stage program. She revealed plans to organize a major science show for the Greater Bushenyi region at Ruhinda Vocational Training Institute, where the best performers will advance to national and international levels.
