Emmy Agaba Rubondo, the Chairperson of LC3 Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri District, has encouraged residents living along newly created feeder roads to capitalize on these roads for economic benefits.
In a statement made today, Thursday, August 8, 2024, while overseeing the rehabilitation of the Koranoryaho – Nyabicence Catholic Church – Matebe – Kanywa road in Kyamanda Parish and the opening of the Omubakimbiri – Kyanamira road in Nyakaina and Bugyera Parishes, Rubondo highlighted the potential for commercial development and roadside ventures along these roads.
David Muhumuza Kaboona, the area Sub County Councilor, commended the government for the road improvements, despite the delays. He urged the beneficiaries to focus on production to ensure better market access.
Fred Turigye, the Chairperson of LC1 Nyabicence Cell, expressed gratitude for the road rehabilitation, noting that it has alleviated the burden of communal work for locals.
Norah Musiime Babusherekana, a resident of Nyabicence Cell, praised the new road, which was constructed on land willingly provided by the community. She expressed optimism about improved income prospects due to the enhanced transportation network.
