Thousands of believers from the Mbarara Archdiocese under the umbrella of Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province will on Sunday hold their annual special pilgrimage mass at Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.
Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province is made of the Archdiocese of Mbarara and the suffragan dioceses of Kasese, Kabale, Fort Portal, and Hoima. The mass will be led by Kabale diocese.
The special pilgrimage mass which will start at 10 am, will be led by the Rt. Rev Callist Rubaramira bishop of Kabale.
Speaking to reporters, the Rt. Rev Callist Rubaramira said that they are fully prepared to lead the mass. He said that thousands of Christians from the five dioceses that make up Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province have started already to arrive at the shrine to bless the function.
According to the Bishop, the purpose of the mass is to hold prayers for Christians, the country, and the church. He called upon Christians from all walks of life to be part of this pilgrimage mass which will help in renewing their strength.
