 Kabale district police are investigating a tragic electrocution incident that led to the death of 39-year-old Ivan Tukwasibwe, a resident of Bufuka village in Kitumba sub-county.

The incident occurred on January 29, 2025, at approximately 11:38 AM.

According to reports, Tukwasibwe was in his mother’s garden in Bufuka village, clearing bushes, when he accidentally came into contact with a fallen electric support wire.

The wire, which was live with electrical power, shocked him, leading to his immediate death.

The area chairperson, Turyahumura Nelson, alerted the authorities. Police responded promptly, visited the scene, processed the area, and documented the incident.

The body was later transported to Kabale Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Following the postmortem, the body was handed over to the deceased’s family for a respectful burial.

The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
