Reverend Father Celestine Bikorwomuhangyi has urged married couples to remain steadfast in their faith and committed to the vows they made in marriage.
Speaking during a dedication Mass at Makiro Parish in Kanungu Town Council, Kanungu District, Fr. Celestine emphasized that, whether married in church or through customary traditions, couples should strengthen their faith by obeying God’s commandments. He encouraged husbands to love their wives and wives to respect their husbands, as taught in the Bible.
Paul and Ruth Ahabwe, the lead couple of the Cana Movement at Makiro Parish, outlined the objectives of the initiative, which include reviving families, strengthening unity, and encouraging prayer among couples. They noted that these efforts have significantly contributed to fostering strong Christian family bonds and promoting community development.
Meanwhile, Tukamushaba Denis, the head teacher of San Giovanni, commended the Catholic Church for its pivotal role in promoting quality education. He described San Giovanni as a model school renowned for its discipline, academic excellence, and strong moral foundation. Tukamushaba credited the church for supporting the school through infrastructure development, instilling discipline, and nurturing Christian values, all of which have been instrumental in the school’s success.
This message comes at a time when religious leaders continue to emphasize the importance of faith and unity in families as the cornerstone of a strong society.
