Authorities, and students at Immaculate Heart Girls’ Secondary School in Nyakibale, located in the Southern division of Rukungiri Municipality, were delighted on Thursday with the announcement of the 2023 UCE results.
Sr. Gladys Kachope, the school’s Head Teacher, disclosed that out of the 397 candidates who sat for the UNEB exams, 378 achieved Division One, with the remaining 19 securing Division Two.
Sr. Kachope attributed this success to the concerted efforts of teachers, students, and parents, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She noted that this year’s performance surpassed that of the previous year when they had 312 candidates.
Emphasizing the school’s commitment to prayer, Sr. Kachope highlighted its role in fostering discipline among the students.
Several students expressed their excitement to our reporter, viewing the 2023 UCE results as a source of motivation. They pledged to uphold the school’s esteemed reputation through their continued hard work.
Meanwhile, at St. Paul’s Secondary School Buyanja, out of the 156 candidates who took the UNEB exams, 27 achieved Division One, 47 Division Two, 37 Division Three, 44 Division Four, and 1 Division Seven.
Patrick Tuhaise Omujuni, the Head Teacher of St. Paul’s Secondary School Buyanja, expressed gratitude for the students’ performance, attributing their success to divine intervention despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
