Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha, the Bushenyi District Woman Member of Parliament, has urged Christians to refrain from defying clergy and to focus on the development of their Church and families.

She made the call on Friday, 10th January 2025, during her remarks at the reunion of Retired Venerable Canon Elidard Ahimbisibwe Kashanje and his family in Karebo 1 Cell, Kirera Parish, Kashenshero Sub-County, Mitooma.

The reunion was attended by Retired Venerable Canon Nathan Mugisha Kirebete, Retired Venerable Canon Elaisha Washwa, Head of Laity Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry Edson Muhwezi Mpirime, and other distinguished Christians.

Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha, who is also a cousin to Elidard, praised him for his legacy, commended the cooperation exhibited by Christians, and urged them to avoid harboring hatred toward the clergy. She emphasized the importance of unity for the development of the Church and the success of families.

Venerable Canon Richard Mubangizi, the archdeacon of Kashenshero Archdeaconry, West Ankole Diocese, acknowledged the heifer provided by Kashenshero Archdeaconry as a sign of diplomatic welcome. He emphasized the importance of brotherhood and praised Elidard Kashanje for his integrity.

Evans Matsiko, the Head of Laity at Rwenteramo Church of Uganda Parish, Elidard’s local church, welcomed him with honor for his vast experience in Church activities and unwavering support.

Nathan Tukahirwa, Elidard’s older brother, praised God for his brother’s successful calling and encouraged him to focus on sustainability and homestead innovations.

Justus Bwita Muganzi, the Head of Laity at Kasoroza Parish, recounted Elidard’s advocacy for successful marriages and religious revival during his tenure. He pledged continuous interaction with him.

Elidard Kashanje dedicated his journey to God’s will and pledged continuous interaction with the North Kigezi Diocese, particularly Nyakagyeme and Kashenyi Archdeaconries, while remaining committed to Kashenshero Archdeaconry.
