The principal community development officer Mbarara district Arthur Byaruhanga has appreciated the Kanaama Interactive Community Support Uganda organization for adding more skills to old women on how to fight and eliminate gender-based violence in homes.

He clarified that the major causes of poverty include poverty and selfishness, hence railing them to work as a team.

Byaruhanga said this while officiating at the graduation ceremony of over one hundred women who completed a nineteen-month training in adult literacy learning at Kyakataara catholic church in Rubindi sub county Kashari north Mbarara district.

All participants completed their course and were awarded certificates by Kanaama Interactive Community Support KICS Uganda

He called upon other stakeholders to emulate what Kanaama Interactive Community Support Uganda is doing that will help the government to properly implement its projects such as the parish development model PDM program.

The chairperson board Kanaama Interactive Community Support Uganda expressed appreciation to all development partners who gave support in the training of the old women to be able to graduate.

She explained that old women learnt how to read and write, how to make savings, and how to avoid domestic violence in their homes.

He added that they are now the right women to benefit from the parish development model PDM program because they know how to save, do commercial business, and work as a team.
