Police in Kabale District have arrested four notorious suspects believed to be behind a wave of recent murders and violent robberies in Kabale Municipality.
According to the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, the suspects were involved in a series of attacks on the night of October 1, 2025, between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., which left one person dead and several others injured.
The gang allegedly murdered a security guard near Albertine Hotel and critically injured Loyce Kanyoro, from whom they stole several items. They later raided the home of Sunday Kenneth in Nyabikoni, stealing his Toyota Noah vehicle (Reg. No. UBP 471V), which was later abandoned in Mwanjari after being used to transport stolen property.
The same group is also accused of attacking Vian Ngororano, a worker at Kabale High Court, in Kamatojo cell, Mwanjari ward. Ngororano bravely fought back, disarmed one of the attackers of a panga, and injured him before they fled.
Those arrested include:
Arinda Smith, 25, a resident of Kigoro village, Rubaya sub-county in Kabale, who was tracked down and arrested in Mpigi District after attempting to charge a stolen phone.
