Police in Bushenyi District are investigating an accident that occurred on New Year’s Day along the Ishaka-Kagamba road.
The incident happened on January 1, 2025, at around 9:00 PM in Kashenyi Town along the Kagamba-Ishaka road.
The accident involved a motor vehicle with registration number UBD 828A, a white Toyota Premio, and a motorcycle with registration number UFK 239P, a red Bajaj Boxer.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the victim as Dominic Tukamuhebwa, 25, a boda-boda rider and resident of Kanyegyero Village, Nkanga Sub-county, Bushenyi District.
It is alleged that the motor vehicle, traveling from Kashenyi to Ishaka, was overtaking another vehicle near a hump when it collided with the motorcycle, which was coming from Ishaka. The rider sustained a fracture in his right leg.
Tumusiime stated that the injured rider was taken to Kampala International Teaching Hospital for treatment. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
