Police in Bushenyi District are currently investigating a tragic incident involving the death of a 50-year-old woman who was struck by a speeding vehicle.
The fatal hit-and-run accident took place on 17/03/2024 around 8:50 PM at Bushenyi Vocational Dan Memorial Institute in Bushenyi town.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed the incident, stating that an unidentified motorcycle collided with Assumpta, a resident of Bwatogo in Bushenyi town, resulting in her immediate death.
According to reports, the motorcycle struck the pedestrian as she was crossing the road to return home to Byatongo Nyamushekyera in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
Tumusiime mentioned that the deceased’s body has been transferred to Kampala International University Teaching Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination, while investigations into the matter continue.
