Residents of Kikarara Bwambara were urged to engage in physical exercise by participating in sports to nurture their talents.
Nuwagaba Annah Tumuramye made this statement while presiding over a celebration of International Women’s Day with locals, during which women engaged in a friendly football match in Garuka-Kikarara parish, Bwambara sub-county, Rukungiri district.
She chose to commemorate Women’s Day with the residents on March 17, 2024, as a means of connecting with them and promoting the values of women in society.
Nuwagaba Annah emphasized that discovering one’s talent offers numerous advantages, enabling individuals to explore the world. She pledged to ensure that essential services are provided to the residents of Bwambara Sub County, enabling women to benefit from government programs aimed at improving their income status.
As a means of fostering talent among women, Nyakatembe and Nyakabungo were each provided with two pairs of jerseys and two balls. Additionally, she committed to collaborating with the community to repair and install boreholes in the Kikarara parish, addressing the challenge of inadequate water supply.
Speaking at the same event, Frank Rukanurwa emphasized that Kikarara should not be seen as merely a means for others to exploit promises and then disregard the community’s needs. He highlighted the community’s potential, vision, and objectives for self-development.
Kabagambe Fred Kamara, the local council chairperson, highlighted the numerous challenges faced by the area, particularly regarding electricity and water shortages. Residents often have to travel long distances in search of services, which proves fruitless.
