The police in Kabale are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified adult male, whose body was discovered in River Rwabakazi on January 2, 2024.
According to reports, at approximately 07:30hrs on the mentioned date, Paskali, a cattle keeper tending to animals in the farm of the late Byaruhanga Douglas, stumbled upon a person, suspected to be deceased, lying in River Rwabakazi in Rushaki cell, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality/District. Paskali promptly reported the discovery to Mwanjari police, who then informed the District/Criminal Investigation Department (D/CID) Officer Kabale.
D/SP Mukama Hakim, the District CID Officer, along with a team comprising Homicide, Crime Intelligence, and Fire Rescue Service personnel, proceeded to the scene where the body was found. Upon retrieval from the water, the body had decomposed to a point where identification became challenging.
The scene was thoroughly examined, documented, and the body was transported to Kabale Hospital mortuary for postmortem analysis. Authorities are urging individuals with missing loved ones to visit the hospital mortuary for identification purposes and to make arrangements for a proper burial.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
