The Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations have officially begun today across the country, with candidates starting with Geography.

In Kigezi region, the disbursement of examination papers commenced at 8:29 a.m. from Kabale Central Police Station, which serves as distribution center 58 for 28 schools.

While overseeing the exercise, Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate cautioned schools against engaging in any form of examination malpractice. He emphasized that security personnel are on high alert to ensure a smooth and fair examination process, warning that any school found attempting malpractice would face strict action.

Medard Turamyomwe, the headteacher of Nyamweru Secondary School in Rubanda District, expressed confidence that his students are well-prepared for the examinations, noting that they have had ample time to revise. He also appreciated the favorable weather, which he said would ease transportation of examination materials to hard-to-reach areas.

Eunice Byomuhangi, headteacher of Bishop Kivengeri Girls Muyebe in Kabale District, said her students are calm and ready to perform well.

Amos Ahimbisibwe, the area supervisor for station 58 and headteacher of Bubaare Secondary School, confirmed that all scouts and invigilators have been dispatched and are well-trained to manage the examinations effectively.

The examinations will continue nationwide under tight supervision to ensure integrity and fairness.
