Two individuals, Moses Aryaiza and Didas Booba, both residents of Muyonyo village in Migyera Parish, Katerera Town Council, Rubirizi District, have been apprehended by the police on charges of aggravated robbery.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed this information. The victim in this case is Vincent Muhumuza, a 25-year-old resident of the same area.
The alleged incident took place on the evening of November 5, 2023, at approximately 9:00 PM. Shillah Ankunda, the complainant, was in the process of preparing dinner when she heard a commotion behind her residence. She rushed out of the kitchen to investigate the situation, only to discover Booba Didas restraining her husband, Muhumuza, on the ground, while Aryaiza held a spear and machete, which he used to attack the victim.
Tumusiime mentioned that Ankunda’s cries for help drew the attention of other people who came to the scene and assisted in getting the victim to Katerera Family Care Clinic for initial treatment. Subsequently, he was referred to Comboni Hospital in Kyamuhunga, Bushenyi, for further medical care.
The police reported that an unspecified amount of money was stolen from the victim, as he had recently sold his onions.
