Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo has pledged to work closely with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to fight household poverty in Rukungiri District.
Speaking shortly after being sworn in as the Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District, Mary Paula thanked God for enabling her to take the oath of office and expressed gratitude to the people of Rukungiri for entrusting her with their votes.
She said the confidence shown in her by the electorate is a strong motivation for her to serve the people diligently and faithfully during her term in Parliament.
The legislator also congratulated President Museveni upon his swearing-in earlier this week for a seventh term as President of the Republic of Uganda. She pledged her full support and commitment to working together with the President and the people of Rukungiri to improve livelihoods and eradicate household poverty in the district.
Mary Paula emphasized that addressing poverty remains one of the key priorities for both the government and local leaders, noting that collective efforts will be vital in transforming the welfare of families across Rukungiri and Uganda at large.
