Gen. Henry Tumukunde has confirmed his ability and efforts to push the World Bank/USMID project to Rukungiri Municipality together with Hon. Mary Paula. He called for support and unity from supporters of all political parties, delegating himself as a leader ready to represent both NRM and opposition parties.
The Rukungiri Municipality NRM flag bearer, Gen. Henry Tumukunde, made these remarks while speaking to hundreds of supporters during a joint campaign at Kakabada Trading Center with the Rukungiri District Woman MP flag bearer, Hon. Turyahikayo Kebirungi Mary Paula, and the Rukungiri Municipality Mayor aspirant, Nkasiime Boaz Matiita.
Gen. Tumukunde, with a lot of gratitude, thanked Rukungiri residents for showing NRM support and unity. He not only called for support but also for the endorsement of President Museveni, Hon. Mary Paula, Andrew Katebire Charles, Boaz Matiita, and other NRM flag bearers on different posts.
Gen. Tumukunde expressed his commitment, together with Hon. Mary Paula, to have been pushing efforts for the World Bank/USMID project, which is supposed to modernize Rukungiri Municipality. He said they have been making requests and investing a lot of energy to pull it from the far phases to the nearest and quickest phase for the development of Rukungiri Municipality.
He added and expressed commitment to support the youth and uneducated residents who still have interest in education by lobbying for a second-chance school to enable them to access knowledge and skills. Fortunately, he gave hope that he has already identified funders and is ready to seek support from the government.
Meanwhile, he urged NRM supporters to stick to their party and endorse flag bearers ahead of the forthcoming general elections. However, with a kind heart, he requested opposition supporters from different political parties to also endorse him as a leader who is ready to fully represent their views. Above all, he encouraged peaceful campaigns and unity ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The Rukungiri Municipality Mayor aspirant, Nkasiime Boaz Matiita, while speaking during the rally, thanked municipality voters for massive support in the NRM primaries. However, he urged them to support all flag bearers for easier service delivery and cooperation in lobbying for essential services.
The Rukungiri District Woman MP NRM flag bearer, Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo Kebirungi, similarly collaborated with Gen. Tumukunde and assured municipality residents that they are ready to formulate a partnership cooperation that will remain in the history of Rukungiri District after modernizing it to a greater level. She revealed that Gen. Tumukunde has been cooperative with her even when she was still leading Rubabo County, therefore calling on residents to vote for all of them and demand accountability.
