NTUNGAMO– First Lady and Minister for Education Ms Janet Kataaha Museveni has acknowledged the threats facing the traditional family in the world calling the celebration of the standing family values and fighting for the values to remain if the real family is to stand the test of time.
Speaking while presiding over the Silver Jubilee marriage celebrations for the South Ankole Diocese Bishop Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe and his wife Lillian at Kyamate secondary school in Ntungamo Municipality, she said with many in the world against the traditional family and willing to put in money to fight it any successful marriage needs to be celebrated.
The first lady said those remaining faithful and believing in the family must celebrate but still fight to keep up the family.
She asked the bishop and his wife to strengthen their marriage to the Lord Jesus if they want it to stand for more generations as challenges may not fear them because they are just ministers in the church.
Representing the Arch Bishop of the Church of Uganda, the Ankole Diocese Bishop Rt Rev Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa asked Christians to remain humble in faith and wait for God to do wonders to their lives as they work hard to challenge the world.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe thanked the church for nurturing him and his wife to become the leaders in the institution they came to as young people.
In the 25 years of Marriage, the Ahimbisibwes have produced 6 children including a set of twins. Bishop Ahimbisibwe is the first Bishop of the Ntungamo-based South Ankole diocese.
The function also saw the Bishop warm a new house and treat their guests to a warm reception at their new home at Rukindo in Ntungamo municipality. Several dignitaries attended the function.
