The Rukungiri district Muslim Kadhi has challenged Muslims to embrace and support government programs if they are to kick poverty out of their homes.
He made these remarks on Saturday during his familiarization tour at Kisiizi mosque in Nyarushanje sub-county Rukungiri district since his enthronement in January this year.
Sheik Byaruhanga Kayole said his familiarization tour in the district is focusing on teaching Muslims to participate in government programs such as the parish development model, and Emyooga among others. He urged Muslims to educate children for a better tomorrow.
According to the district Muslim Kadhi, this tour will also help the Muslim Education Committee to get direct intervention with different school administrators and stakeholders in a bid to discuss measures to develop their school in terms of performance.
Sheik Abdul Salim the Imam of Kisiizi mosque told the district Muslim leaders that their mosque still faces some challenges like inadequate land and the absence of a road to connect to the mosque which has hindered service at their place.
He thanked the district Kadhi for considering their mosque in his familiarization tour hence pledging to support him in his ministry.
