Traders in Kisoro Municipality are pressing for the installation of street lights along all major roads. Currently, street lights are only installed from Kisoro Municipal Council to Mubano Hotel in the central division, leaving the southern and northern divisions completely dark.

The absence of street lights has prompted traders to close their shops early due to fear of robberies.

They question why the central business district, despite being a bustling area, lacks proper street lighting. Traders accuse municipal authorities of neglecting this issue, which they claim is detrimental to their businesses.

In response, Kisoro Municipality Town Clerk, Ayubu Kisubi, acknowledges plans to install street lights and extend their coverage beyond the central business district. However, he did not specify a timeline for when this initiative will commence.
