Total Fans Club Kabale celebrates its 3rd anniversary today, Saturday, by painting zebra crossings on roads within Kabale Town, located in Kabale Municipality.

While addressing the media, the chairperson of Total Fans Club Kabale, Gumisiriza Lauben, also known as Ben, stated that the primary reason for painting zebra crossings is to help reduce the increasing number of road accidents and overspeeding in Kabale Municipality.

He noted that Total Fans Club Kabale has received significant support from the community over the years, and this initiative is their way of giving back to ensure everyone benefits from their efforts.

He added that they will put five zebra crossings in Kabale Town.

Gumisiriza, who is also the manager of Total Energies Kabale, emphasized that the zebra crossings will especially benefit the public, including school-going children, by ensuring their safety while crossing roads, particularly during the busy morning and evening hours.

The Officer in Charge of Traffic in Kabale District, ASP Wilson Mucunguzi, expressed gratitude to the Total Fans Club Kabale for painting zebra crossings on several roads in Kabale Town. He urged the public, particularly road users, to take these safety measures seriously and exercise caution when crossing the roads.

Mucunguzi emphasized that zebra crossings are not places for pedestrians to loiter or engage in activities like tying their shoes but should be used appropriately to ensure safety.

He said that within a week, the Traffic Office at Kabale Police Station recorded four accidents.

He noted that Kabale Town previously lacked zebra crossings, and now that well-wishers have introduced them, it is crucial for road users to utilize them responsibly to reduce road accidents.

He further urged drivers, motorcyclists, and cyclists to always respect zebra crossings wherever they are found in town to promote safety for all road users.

The Mayor of Kabale Municipality, Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha, and Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha, the Deputy RDC of Wakiso District, urged the public to support the development of Kabale Municipality with unity and dedication.
