A mob in Kiyoora Parish, Nyakyera Sub-county, Ntungamo District, has killed three unidentified men alleged to have been behind a wave of violent crimes in the area.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 4:00 AM, when a resident, Turyamuhabwa Lauben, spotted the trio armed with pangas and swords approaching his home. His alarm drew the attention of the community, who quickly mobilized and pursued the suspects.

One of the men was reportedly killed near Kiyoora Market, while the other two were caught and killed on a nearby hill in Kiyoora Town. Their identities remain unknown at the time of this report.
According to residents, the three men had been in the area for several days and were allegedly involved in criminal activities, including theft, murder, and housebreaking. One resident expressed relief, saying the community had been living in fear due to frequent attacks, including gruesome killings and livestock thefts.

“This will at least send a message to the rest of the gang that we are ready to defend ourselves,” one woman commented.
By press time, police had not yet arrived at the scene.
Authorities are yet to comment on the matter or begin formal investigations.
