Football fever gripped Kamahuri Primary School playground over the weekend as thousands of fans turned up to witness an electrifying friendly match between Boona FM FC and Rugarama North FC. The game, part of the Ekyigutuuro Ruhenda Myambi activations, ended 1–0 in favor of Boona FM FC, with a brilliant goal from Aikiriza Isaac, popularly known as “Messi.”
This thrilling match was organized ahead of the grand Ekyigutuuro Ruhenda Myambi celebrations slated for July 12, 2025, at Rukungiri Main Stadium, marking 91.8 Boona FM’s eight years of broadcasting excellence.
Musinguzi Amos, Boona FM’s agent in Rugarama North, lauded the community’s overwhelming support and noted the station’s continued positive impact on youth development.
Rugarama North FC captain and district youth councillor Muyambi Davis Byakurama, praised Boona FM for partnering with local leaders to promote unity and talent through sports. He urged residents to attend the upcoming Ekyigutuuro Ruhenda Myambi celebrations to network, learn, and celebrate together.
Ntungamo District Speaker and aspiring LC5 Chairperson Nicholas Twikyirize Mugyenzi, also graced the event. He hailed Boona FM for its efforts in promoting youth talent through sports and encouraged locals to continue supporting the station.
Speaking at the event, Boona FM Manager Namanya Santurina Kakyene thanked the leadership and people of Rugarama North for their love and enthusiasm.
