Members of the Kabuga Visionary Group Association have been urged to uphold unity and cooperation as key pillars for growth and development during the association’s official membership launch.

The association’s treasurer, Charles Beegi, in his remarks during the launch, noted that the purpose of organizing the function was to officially register and launch the association. He mentioned that the group started with 45 members but has now grown to 68, with a strong focus on promoting family development.

Beegi emphasized that the launch was necessary as the association had existed for three years without formal registration or government recognition. He thanked key guests, including former Rubabo Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, Boona Radio, Mwesigwa Mathias Rwabugami, and other political leaders for their support.

Representing Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, Bob Rumanzi, the chief news editor at Boona FM, called for cooperation and unity among members, stressing that this would significantly contribute to the association’s growth. He also urged local leaders to prioritize improving public facilities, especially Kabuga Road, which is currently in a deplorable condition.

Mathias Rwabugumi, aspiring Rubabo Constituency MP and current Nyarushanje LC5 District Councillor, encouraged unity and cooperation as vital elements for the association’s prosperity. He appreciated the guests who attended the launch and pledged to keep monitoring Kabuga Road’s poor state and work on other road infrastructure projects.

Rwabugumi also promised the construction of a district Kabuga office building, a public toilet, and renovations for Kabuga Health Center II, which is in dire condition. He highlighted the inadequate education services in Kabuga and pledged to support Kabuga Seed School, describing it as a hard-to-reach institution that needs special attention.

He called upon association leaders to be united, trustworthy, cooperative, visionary, and well-organized to attract government support. He also urged responsible leaders to protect government projects and infrastructure for the prosperity of the area.

Speaking as the guest of honour, Mr. Timothy Matsiko, who is also a member of the association, expressed his gratitude for the group’s formation. He encouraged members to uphold unity and cooperation as they work towards achieving their goals.

Matsiko also advised leaders to maintain order and encouraged members to support one another, particularly through the association’s loan fund. He urged them to vote for responsible leaders who can spearhead development and help the community overcome poverty. He concluded by warning members against disunity and reminded them to always have a clear vision.
