National Water and Sewerage Corporation has revealed its plans to petition the Ministry of Water and Environment to summon Vambeco Company, the contractors of the Kahengye Gravity Water project to rectify the prevailing defects.
This was revealed on Thursday by National Water and Sewerage Corporation Director Regional Operations Engineer Okora Noni Edmond after conducting a 2-day inspection where he realized minimal water flow as a result of low pressure brought about by shoddy work.
Edmond noted that on Friday 2nd June 2023, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation Executive Director Engineer Silver Mugisha visited the Rukungiri Branch to assess the project and found a low water supply which is affecting service delivery.
He further noted that they are aware of the inconvenience and appealed to their clients to be patient as they clear the defects before November 2023.
The Senior Manager of Static Plant Kiyimba Charles, disclosed that the prevailing defects in the project are normal noting that they witnessed them and are ready to engage the Ministry of Water and Environment to rectify them.
The Manager of National Water and Sewerage Corporation Rukungiri Branch Amumpaire Babrah commended their clients for paying the bills in time despite the inconvenience.
She said that they were given Kahengye Gravity Water with challenges that are known by the head office and yet to be solved.
