Police in Sheema District are hunting for a security guard for shooting and killing one person.
The suspect has been identified as Barugahare Vincent 45, a security guard attached to Agri Security Company Ltd deployed at Mushanga Sacco main branch at Nyamufumura and a resident of Kachwamba cell, Nyarweshama ward, Sheema municipality in Sheema District.
According to police officer ASP Akalivenuma levi 37years attached to Nyamufumura police post the incident happened on 29/01/2023 at around 5:00PM.
it’s alleged that the deceased was found stealing a pineapple from the garden of a resident identified as William Wabukare and was being chased by the local residents who were making an alarm.
As he was running towards Mushanga Sacco, he was intercepted by Barugahare who shoot him through the neck killing him instantly.
Macial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson said by press time the deceased had not been identified but he is a male in his early 20s.
Tumusiime says the Scene was visited by a team of police officers from Sheema police station and the body of the deceased conveyed to Kabwohe health centre IV for post mortem.
Tumusiime further said a riffle was recovered with 4 rounds of live ammunition.
