Primary School Headteachers in Rukungiri District have been hailed for improving the academic standards in the 2022 Uganda Primary Leaving Examinations.
The Rukungiri District chairperson LCV Kyomukama Geoffrey who was on Saturday officiating at a function to mark the release of the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations results at the District conference hall hailed the tremendous work done by teachers that made the pupils excel, noting that it was because of teamwork and urged parents to take their children to schools they can afford.
The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Steven Nsubuga Bewayo attributed the good performance to newly recruited school inspectors deployed in Sub Counties and called on the Ministry of Education and sports to introduce a pass mark policy for promotion to eliminate failure.
The District secretary for Education Commerce and Tourism ,Musimenta Claire Keredonia asked teachers to embrace cooperation with parents if they are to minimize the challenges they meet during teaching.
The Rukungiri District Primary School Headteachers Association chairperson Herbert Musasizi charged parents and teachers to combat absenteeism for the improved performance of their schools.
