Police in Sheema district have arrested a 19-year-old man on allegations of murder and aggravated robbery.
The incident happened on the night of 4th July 2023 at Omukashansha trading center, Nyarweshama Ward, Sheema District.
Macial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson identified the suspect as Alex Kamugisha19 years, a casual laborer and a resident of Nyabirerema cell, Rushozi ward in Sheema District.
He further identified the deceased as Asiimwe Albert 42 years, a businessman, resident of Nyakanyinya cell, Nyarweshama ward in the Sheema District.
It’s alleged that the deceased was last seen operating his retail shop on 4th July 2023 at his business, however on 5th July 2023 people realized that his door was locked from out while security lights were on, and they tried to call him but his phone was off.
They decided to call the wife who resides at their residential home to come and switch it off, however on opening, the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood with a fresh deep-cut wound on the neck.
Bakaija Twaha 38 years, a resident of Kyogyera trading center Nyarweshama ward in Sheema District reported the case to Nyamufumura police station.
Tumusiime said the body of the deceased was conveyed to Kabwohe health center IV for postmortem and investigations commenced.
