Learners and teachers at Rwabihurwa Primary School in Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District, today, Thursday, 3rd October 2024, received scholastic materials and kitchen utensils donated by alumni.
The scholastic materials included writing books and sets of examination papers, while the kitchen utensils comprised plates, dishes, cups, and spoons, all donated by the alumni under the Rwabihurwa Old Boys and Girls Association.
Rev. James Twebaze, the Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Mutaturwa Church of Uganda, presided over the handover ceremony. He commended the alumni for their continued support of the school, noting that those who share the little they have with others are truly blessed and will never lack.
Ms. Glorious Natamba Turigye, the headmistress of Rwabihurwa Primary School, expressed her gratitude to the alumni for supporting the underprivileged and acknowledged the government’s recent teacher deployments, which have improved school enrollment. She assured that the donated items would be properly managed and cared for.
Frank Mabwa, the Parish Councilor and Vice Chairperson of Kebisoni Sub County, who is vying for the LC3 seat in the upcoming general elections, praised the alumni for complementing the government’s efforts. He urged parents to prioritize their children’s education and help make the school well-known.
Rukundo Paul, the secretary of the association, applauded the unity and dedication of the alumni in supporting their former school. He encouraged the teachers to take good care of the donated items, ensuring they fulfill the vision of the donors.
Timothy Byamugisha, the head boy of Rwabihurwa Primary School, welcomed the donation, acknowledged the conducive learning environment fostered by the teachers, and assured the responsible use of the materials for better academic outcomes.
