Residents of Buhunga Sub-county in Rukungiri District have appealed to the Security Minister and Rujumbura County Member of Parliament, Hon. Maj Gen. Jim Muhwezi Katugugu, to resolve his disputes with Peace Rugambwa, saying their misunderstandings are creating confusion among the electorate.

Talent Beinomugisha, one of the residents, appealed during a public meeting held yesterday in Buhunga Sub-county, where various government agencies convened under the Baraza campaign to explain their readiness to deliver services, including electricity, water, roads, health, and the Parish Development Model (PDM) ahead of the 2026 general elections.

He also expressed dissatisfaction with some residents for unfairly blaming him for delays in services such as electricity, water, and roads, which he said fall outside his direct responsibilities. He called for an end to what he termed “unfair criticism” and assured the public of government efforts to deliver electricity and water before the NRM primary elections in July 2025.
