The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner Steven Nsubuga Bewayo has today donated 60 mosquito Nets worth 600,000  (Six hundred thousand) Ugx to the 60 deaf pupils at Nyakibale Lower Primary School Deaf Unit.
Nsubuga says he is passionate about  helping the disabled because it was not their choice and GOD created them for a reason noting when he visited them, he discovered a need for mosquito Nets.

He asked parents avoid hiding their disabled children because they can contribute to the nation when they are given opportunities.
The Head of the Deaf Unit Sister Bonekonsira Atuhairwe expressed gratitude upon receiving the mosquito Nets noting malaria is the most serious challenge and  they find it difficult to transport the deaf to health centers.

Among other challenges she highlighted was trespassers who steal the belongings of the deaf and a security threat because the institution is not fenced as well as lack of assisting devices to boost their senses and skills .
