Rukungiri District Police Commander (DPC) SSP Musa Tibakirana has been promoted and transferred to Kampala Metropolitan North as the Deputy Regional Police Commander in a new reshuffle initiated by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Abbas Byakagaba.

He will be stationed in Kawempe, succeeding SSP Kyangungu Apollo, the former DPC of Amudat District, who was attending a course at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi at the time of his appointment.

SSP Tibakirana expressed his gratitude to the people of Rukungiri for their cooperation and support during his tenure as District Police Commander since September 2021. He acknowledged that Rukungiri is known for various crimes, including theft and murder, but noted that the police, with the collaboration of local leaders and residents, managed to handle most of these cases effectively.

Tibakirana extended his thanks to the Rukungiri security committee, led by the Office of the Resident District Commissioner and the District Internal Security Officer, as well as religious leaders, political leaders at all levels, the general public, and Security Minister Hon. Jim Muhwezi for their assistance to the police in various ways. He urged the people of Rukungiri to cooperate with the new DPC to maintain security and reduce crime in the district.

Similarly, SCP Fred Enanga, the former police spokesperson, announced on his X page that he had served as the Uganda Police Spokesperson for the past five years and would be moving to the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations as a Deputy Director.

Enanga congratulated the new Police Spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituma, and wished him well in his new role. He also thanked the Fourth Estate (journalists and editors) and all Government Communicators (GCOF) for their cooperation, commitment, and hard work, which made his work easier through their collaboration.
