Rukungiri District Kadhi, Sheik Abdul Malik Kayole, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, handed over a brand-new motorcycle to Bikurungu Muslim Twale to support the newly installed Bikurungu County Sheik, Asuman Kagwa, in transportation and mosque mobilization efforts.
Sheik Asuman Kagwa was officially installed as Bikurungu County Sheik during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations held last Sunday at Bikurungu Playground.
During the installation ceremony, Sheik Abdul Malik Kayole announced his initiative to mobilize resources and secure transport means for all three county sheiks in Rujumbura, Bikurungu, and Rubabo.
While handing over the motorcycle to Bikurungu Muslim leaders, he urged Sheik Asuman Kagwa to use it for mobilization efforts by visiting and engaging with Muslims as he fulfills his responsibilities.
He expressed gratitude to various leaders who contributed to the purchase of the motorcycle and the installation of the new county sheik, including Hon. Mary Paul Turyahikayo, Hon. Jim Muhwezi (Minister of Security & Rujumbura County Legislator), Mr. Frank Rukanirwa, and Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa.
Sheik Abdul Malik Kayole assured that the Rujumbura and Rubabo county sheiks will also receive motorcycles as mobilization efforts continue, urging Muslims to actively participate in the fundraising.
The newly installed Sheik Asuman Kagwa expressed his gratitude to the District Kadhi for appointing him and providing him with a means of transport.
He pledged to work closely with Bikurungu Twale Muslims to foster development within the Muslim community, enhance mosque infrastructure, and promote participation in government social transformation programs by regularly visiting mosques across Bikurungu County.
