Police in Rubanda District are investigating a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a man on the night of April 22, 2026.
The deceased has been identified as Alex Ahimbisibwe, an adult male who was reportedly working as a broker at the Muko Market boda boda stage.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. at Habutobere Village in Muko Sub-county along the Kabale–Kisoro Road. It is alleged that the rider of a motorcycle, registration number UFR 712N (Bajaj Boxer), was traveling from Kisoro towards Kabale when he lost control at the Muko Market boda boda stage and knocked the victim.
A team of police officers led by ASP Mwine, the area traffic officer, promptly responded to the scene. The victim’s body was later transported to Muko Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
The motorcycle involved in the accident has been impounded and is currently parked at Rubanda Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV). Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the rider, who is currently on the run.
Authorities say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
