Mr. Ronald Twesigye, the Rukungiri District Inspector of Schools and Head of Guidance and Counseling, has called on the public to support private institutions in their communities as an alternative avenue for development.

He made the appeal today, Friday, November 22, 2024, while presiding over the graduation ceremony for top-class learners at Kebisoni Parents Nursery and Primary School in Omuritaano Trading Center, Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Highlighting the limited opportunities in government employment against the backdrop of a rapidly growing population, Mr. Twesigye praised private schools for creating jobs, providing markets for agricultural produce, and delivering quality services. He urged the public to rally behind private institutions to boost the economy.

Additionally, he encouraged school administrators to embrace the government policy on staff upgrading, emphasizing the need for suitably qualified teachers to meet the Ministry of Education and Sports’ standards for quality education.

Mr. James Turyamubona, one of the school’s directors, acknowledged the cooperation of parents, which has been instrumental in the institution’s consistent success. He advocated for parental vigilance to ensure the safety of children during the long holiday.

Meanwhile, Mr. Benon Turyamushangayo, another director of the school, urged parents to embrace the evolving trends in education driven by technological advancements. He emphasized the importance of adopting activities that inspire and empower learners to prioritize their education. Mr. Turyamushangayo also announced plans to celebrate the school’s Silver Jubilee in June 2024.

Mr. Richard Turyatemba, a teacher at Nyakagyeme Secondary School and Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), reiterated teachers’ commitment to providing quality education. He appealed to parents to make timely payment of school dues to enable administrators to achieve their goals, ensuring the success of learners.

Mr. Tumuhairwe Julius Gamurorwa, a teacher at Bishop Ruhindi Kebisoni High School and a representative of parents, expressed his gratitude to the school’s teachers for their dedication to providing quality education. He highlighted the importance of accountability for the values instilled in children.
