Police in Rukungiri is investigating a Fatal road accident that claimed the life of a 17 year old student of London Vocational Institute Marumba
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesman says the accident involved motor veichle registration number UBG 656Z Isuzu forward driven by Asiimwe Daudi 28, a welder and resident of Buhandagazi trading centre Nyabitete parish Buyanja subcounty Rukungiri District which knocked dead a female juvenile pedestrian by the names of Niwamanya Tamari a second year student of London vocational institute Marumba and resident of Nyamuyaga A cell kazindiro parish Bugangari sub county Rukungiri District.
The accident occurred today 05/02/2023 at about 5:15PM at marumba trading centre along Rukungiri Buhandagazi road.
Maate says the driver of the ill fated vehicle was arrested and he is under custody.
Maate attributed the cause of accident to reckless driving .
The body of the deceased was taken to Rwakabengo Health centre 111 pending postmortem and the vehicle is impounded pending iov inspection.
