Rubanda District Local Government is struggling to maintain its roads due to insufficient equipment.

During a thanksgiving mass for Rev. Fr. Brian Monday, Curate of Gisorora Catholic Parish in Kisoro District, held at Kaara Catholic Church in Muko Sub County, former Rubanda West County MP Eng Denis Sabiiti and Kaara resident Kellen Arinanye highlighted the poor condition of the Nshanjare-Rubuguri and Muko-Kakangaga roads. They noted that these conditions hinder traders and farmers from transporting their goods to market.

Rubanda District Chairperson Steven Ampeire Kasyaba, speaking at the same event, explained that the district’s lack of road equipment forces them to rent machinery from neighboring districts.

Despite this challenge, he mentioned that the district has started rehabilitating various roads during the current dry season, including the Muko-Kaara-Mengo-Nshanjare road, which has been in particularly poor condition.
